Maritropolis
A massive commercial and industrial precinct in western Sydney’s burgeoning Aerotropolis – a development zone created by the establishment of a huge new airport – is going ahead in leaps and bounds.
The new NSW industrial hub includes a new hi-tech semiconductor manufacturing facility, multinational logistics centre together with a 24/7 warehouse and distribution centre.
Adelaide’s new Osborne naval precinct, established to deliver AUKUS – Australia’s biggest-ever Maritime Defence Industry Program – has the potential to create a similar development zone if the aims of the MATS Plan – Maritime Adelaide Transport System – were fulfilled.
Such a Maritropolis – a development zone created by the establishment of a huge new naval project – could encompass substantial areas around Bolivar, Virginia and Two Wells.
Internationally, projects such as these drive the creation of jobs, industries and economic opportunities in which local residents can build careers close to home.
