To revive the vision of the Metropolitan Adelaide Transportation Study in order to ensure that the new maritime defence industry based at Osborne is provided with optimum logistical and transportation support. By engineering the roads today, we protect the security of tomorrow.
Primary Focus
Solving the Osborne Logistics Bottleneck. AUKUS is the most significant industrial opportunity in our nation’s history, but it faces a silent threat: traffic congestion. While billions are being spent on building state-of-the-art shipyards in Osborne, the heavy road and rail networks outside the shipyard gates are completely unequipped to handle the massive influx of construction freight, steel, and shipyard workers. If trucks are stuck in local gridlock, submarine delivery timelines will slip.
Advocacy
To mobilize the support of government – Federal, State and Local – and industry and community groups in advancing the case for the Maritime Adelaide Transport System, and to promote the benefits of the MATS Plan project to each and every stakeholder.

Economics
The primary beneficiary of the MATS Plan project will be AUKUS – Australia’s biggest-ever Maritime Defence Industry Program. Given AUKUS’s scale and strategic significance, and because time is of the essence, it is appropriate that MATS Plan – estimated cost $8bn – be funded from Australia’s $800bn Defence Budget over the next ten years. Allocating 1 per cent of the defence budget to ensure its signature project is delivered on time is what our American partners would probably call a ‘no-brainer’.
